Beside here, that is. I currently post semi-regularily on:

askconman.tumblr.com
askconmanlite.tumblr.com

Those two are my Hanna is not a Boy's Name fanart and Ask blog. Yeah, still going after all those years. They're 100% Conrad in-character, but also roughly 90% me.

twitter.com/McT421

Tweet, tweet. I post more various fanart there and sometimes say a dumb thing in an attempt to be funny.

As you can tell, I just really like drawing fanart and saying dumb things.
Ahhh yes. Anyone who's still watching me here from the Neverhood fandom will HAVE to back and/or spread the news about this Kickstarter project. A new claymation point-and-click adventure game. By Doug TenNapel and a lot of the other team members. And it's looking AMAZING.

Kickstarter: Armikrog. by Pencil Test Studios

The funding period ends June 27, 2013.

Just about everyone else who's watching me here: You'll still likely have run into Doug TenNapel and his art style in direct or indirect ways. Trust me. You'll at the very least want to give this project a look as well.

P.S.: Their Facebook page.

Edit: It's funded! Way to go, guys! <3
  • Listening to: Motion City Soundtrack - A Life Less Ordinary
In-Tays-Head did this one and I thought it would be kind of fun! Even though I cheated and tagged myself to talk a bit more about my two Badluck Demon mct421.deviantart.com/gallery/ misfits, and then each of them only gets four facts, and then I'm not tagging anyone at all, either! Tch.

1. Post these rules.
2. Post 8 facts about your character.
3. Tag 8 other characters.
4. Post their names with the creators avatars.

Sam:

- Sam's 88cm tall (2.9 feet), horns not included. He'll insist that he's actually a little bit taller than that.

- Sam really IS a High Level Demon, despite your understandable doubts. The thing is, it mostly just means he can blow stuff up, and that he has the certificate to prove it.

- Sam's goal in life is to become an Elder Demon, or possibly even a Legendary Demon. It is a very common goal in Demonland (yes, it's really called that). It means you can blow up even more stuff, and all the people lingering inbetween. Legendary Demons are super-rare and they're just ridiculously old and can brush through landscapes like a tornado.

- Sam has never actually killed any other demons, or even any small animals, shh. He's kicked a scorpion, though.

Cecil:

- Cecil is somewhere around 170cm (5.6 feet) tall, which really isn't all THAT tall, I guess.

- Cecil has five siblings, and possibly more family. He doesn't see them constantly, though, since he travels a lot, and his siblings don't.

- Cecil's kind is a demonic sub-species, which probably sounds surprising, seeing that most inhabitants of Demonland all look completely different anyway.

- Cecil does not actually have bad eyesight at all (as his name secretly suggests), but he's not just wearing the goggles for the fun of it, either.

UPDATE!
Badluck Demon has a justabitunlucky.deviantart.com… (dA group) now! And I didn't make it myself! :D So, check it out, haha. It was founded on Friday the 13th, which I find mighty marvellous.

Wow, outdated journal is outdated, so I'll quickly generate a new entry to inform you all that I once again was in/around London from the 1st to the 10th o'Jan, to continue my stalkerish Alan fangirl duties from last March while he was around town. It was made possible via the generous hosting of The Pyreo.

It was marrrrvellous in many ways. :D
The Secret Show DVD Vol.1 is gonna be released tomorrow! (rubs hands) Excellent. |^^|
Yeah, I don't exactly update my journal or this place a whole lot, but, hi! I'm sorry that I'm one of those people who rarely replies to comments, even less so on notes, and doesn't comment much on other peoples' stuff, either.

Be assured, though, you're all awesome and I love seeing your art and all that!

Hey, you know what? Two weeks ago, I visited London! Me, the never-goes-anywhere, never-meets-anyone hermity hermit! Scared-of-heights meeky-meek! Master of OMG NO WAI!

And I got to see Grand Theft Impro live, a lot of other (impro and comedy and music) shows, watch voice acting in action in the shape of Rob Rackstraw (I stayed with him while I was there), BE PART OF ONE OF ALAN MARRIOTT'S WORKSHOPS, not to mention meet all the people and friends I adore so much there.

And do a lot of things I'd NEVER usually dare. Like go on the London Friggin' Eye. Not to mention a plane. Twice. Hold conversations (okay, so I'm more of a listener, but still) with crazy-fun folk while sitting in pubs. Last four days of action without really getting all that tired.

The Tube is splendid as a public transportation system, you guys, especially with an Oyster card. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. All the time I was there I kept comparing it to the public transports here and kept thinking "Whoa.. this actually makes SENSE."

Needless to say, London was so many different kinds of great. If you just halfway know me, you'll know that is absolutely NOT my kind of usual life routine. Everyone took care of me so sweet- and patiently and I got to see.. just. So many things. I'm so thankful.

On that note, if you ever felt that you could use more honest fun and non-pressure in your life, look into impro(v) theatre. You're guaranteed to meet a lot of friendly people who're just like you, and likely get all your life questions answered in one way or another.

Mwee, Alan... :D
*OLD NEWS!*

Yo. I have no idea if I'll regret this or what, but I'm in the mood for drawing what other people tell me to, for a little while.

Here's the deal:

...I can't guarantee that I'll actually end up doing anything. I know myself. I have all those plans and then just sit there and drool until I forgot what I was going to do. But at the very least, I'll know what you people would LIKE to see, and it'd be awfully interesting, 'kay? |^^|;

Er, but. Right. The deal.

Everyone can tell me two things.

("Everyone" includes... everyone. I don't have to know you, really.)

One fan thing. Anything. Videogame, cartoon, movie (animated, live action, whatevvur), some nostalgia from your youth, I dunno. Preferably something I DON'T draw all the time, but if you insist I just do more of the same, fine. =P

A bit of detail (like which character, and possibly what you'd like to see them do) can't hurt. Er. No living out odd kinks, though, okay? |>>|

If I don't KNOW what you're talking about, I'll either look it up and try to go with it blindly, or... well, should something like that come up I can still decide what to do then. But wouldn't it be cool if you said something obscure and I know what you're talking about? Eh, eh?

Stylewise, I'll probably go for something more or less resembling this one www.deviantart.com/deviation/3… , as in small picture, inks and quick digital coloring. Maybe just a pencil sketch if I get too stumped. YOU'LL NEVER KNOW. Heck, not even *I* know.

Okay, SECOND. If you want. You can name me one or two or so original characters of yours and I'll handle that the same way as mentioned above. Of course, giving me a link to a reference picture might be veryvery useful there.

So, yep. In short again: Everyone can tell me a fan thing and an original thing (please do it in replies to this journal post, notes sort of tend to get lost with me), and I'll see if I can draw it. Please don't hurt me if I don't do it, though. I'm jus' doing it for fun and interest in what you people like.

...bring it on.

Status: As everyone probably noticed, I haven't actually done anything with this for, what, over a year? I feel really guilty, because I do like a lot of the requests. Which is why I keep this list on here just in CASE I actually start up on it again. No new requests for now, though, please. |^^|;

Seriously, it's cool to see that SO many people are interested! |^^|;

About the Back to Gaya DVD

Okay, now that I have the German, UK and American version of the DVD (yes, I love the movie THAT much), it's time to do some sorted comparison. |~~|

Little reminder: Back to Gaya is just one of the Most-Honest-Cutest movies about friendship I've ever seen, and it just gets better the more you rewatch it. Thus, make sure you bring your inner child, and DON'T expect it to fling one gag after the other - there's some action, some adventure, a LOT of warmth, a few deep moments, and a comfortable subtle amount of silly. And the characters.. are plain LOVE. You HAVE to see them in motion to understand that, trust me.

It's also the first German full-length CGI movie, and remember that they did NOT have a lot of budget for it, which is why I extra-adore them for managing to do this despite everything.

Ambient Entertainment's second movie is Urmel aus dem Eis ("Impy's Island" in English), and THAT one is majorly cute, too. Be warned, though, that one is a PLAIN kids movie which turns any potential deep moment into a silly moment, so if that's not your kind of thing... ya know. Out since the 3rd August in Germany!

On that note, Ambient Entertainment also are a bunch of Super Awesome People. Their art department (and friends) also have art blogs to check out! Die Bilderwumme and Die 30 Heimer.

Okay now, back to the Gaya DVDs. If you know any of the other localized versions, tell me what's on there? I'd love to know... |^^|;

German www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN…
Title: Back to Gaya
Length: 97 minutes
Language & Subtitles: German only

TONS of extras and really nice packaging/menu design. Extras include commentary (all in German, of course), big fat step-by-step Making Of, music video by Frameless (their song "Hooray" fits the movie just SO perfectly), interviews with some of the voice actors, "Crank & Ratner" short movie,  DVD-ROM part with posters for printout, a screensaver and a demo for the Back to Gaya game, in English.

If you buy the Special Edition www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN… you also get the WHOLE game coming with it, but let me tell you that you should only buy that if you want to be amused how terribly OFF the game is, and how terribly GENERIC. And the German voices for the game are awful and random. Seriously. I bought it anyway, to be amused by the BAD, and since the places from the movie are pretty detailed and explorable. And you can use the slingshot and stare at Zino's butt for hours, heh. The English version of the game is still awfully off - but it's got the movie voice actors, at least. Except Alanta.

English (UK) www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN…
Title: Boo, Zino & The Snurks
Length: 91 minutes
Language & Subtitles: English only

Well... I think we can say this version ain't so great, compared to the others. The cover looks thrown-together (this saddens me), there's no extras on the DVD, and in general, for ALL other languages, I believe, the movie is six minutes shorter than the German version. They also put the title-logo into the intro sequence rather clutzily.

I've heard similar terrible things about the Dutch version, but I don't have proof there.

BUT. The movie was MADE for English lip synching, so you don't have to worry about bad dubbing - the voices are awesome. |^^|

English (US) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000…
Title: The Snurks
Length: 91 minutes
Language & Subtitles: English only

Pretty cover and menu, SOME extras (slimmed down Making Of, and a presentation of walking circles/voice tests of the main characters - which is an extra that ISN'T on the German DVD), and.. nicely done. Much better than the UK version. |^^|;

...that's all I can think of for now. Look at my previous journal entries for more babbling on the movie. And.. if you ever watch it, and you are an old-school gamer on top of that, look for the Zak McKracken reference in the News ticker when Chad and Valerie talk in the movie. |^^|; I just thought that was great, hehheh. TWO-HEADED SQUIRREL TERRORIZES SEATTLE!

Okay. Er.

GO GET THE DVD WATCH IT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. |^^|;

"Boo, Zino & The Snurks" (Back to Gaya) is out on DVD in England NOW www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/A….

C'mon, give the movie a chance and watch it, if you can. S'for the whole family. It may come off as a little odd at first, but once you get used to the characters... and rewatch the movie... and don't expect it to be super-funny (too many people try to compare it to Shrek, and that just doesn't work)... it just gets better and better. It's charming, adventurous and all about friendship. |~~|

COME ON, look at those faces. img.photobucket.com/albums/v63…

Yeah, that's what they look like when they're NOT drawn by me. |>>| You HAVE to see them in motion to see just HOW sweet and fun they are, though. HAVE to! Seriously.

And this is the whole crew: img.photobucket.com/albums/v63…

"Back to Gaya" is the first full-length German CGI movie, and Ambient Entertainment are AWESOME people with an awesome, awesome style. |^^| :heart:

Oh.. and if you ARE German, or understand German, you should get the German DVD (d'uh?) www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN… ...it's got a cooler cover, the movie's roughly six minutes longer and there's tons of extras. I really dunno why they skipped on that in the UK release...

Also, there's still more localized DVDs coming out everywhere, and America should be one of them at some point! So keep your eyes peeled!
Yep, I mostly use this place to share my FanArt, because I love and adore other peoples' ideas. Though I guess the highlights of my Scraps section are small Flash animation tests that have nothing to do with anything.

I also watch you people who are on my Watched By list, from time to time. Forgive me, but I just can't keep up with everyone on a daily base. |66| I can barely keep up with my own trains of thought, to be honest.

Thanks to all you nice folks who're leaving comments on my stuff and/or take your time to actually watch me! I know I'm terribly quiet and hard to get a hold of. |uu| Nothing personal at all. I'm just.. something else.

*Zino-voice* I love you all!
